Singapore is one of the most cosmopolitan places in the world, as it was strongly influenced by numerous visitors, merchants and immigrants looking either for an interesting place to explore, good deals or a perfect place to stay and prosper. People from China, Indian sub-continent, Indonesia, Malay Peninsula and Middle East were the most influential here.
Nowadays population of Singapore is mostly comprised of people of Chinese origin, constituting over 74% of the population. The other strongly represented ethnical groups are Malays (the country’s original inhabitants), Indians, Eurasians and Asians (plus other ethnicities) making up for about 13%, 9% and 3% respectively.
